The Social
Communication – Journalism Program of Minuto de Dios University (Uniminuto),
Bogotá Branch, invites proposals for book chapters on Communication Research.
This publication is intended to enhance and give visibility to research
projects both from young and experienced researchers.
- Communication and Education
Based on
the tensions that arise from the schooling Modernity project and the crisis in
traditional institutions such as the family, the church and the school. It also
looks into the possible links among the individuals’ education, the
construction of meaning and the cultural transformations.
- Communication and Participation
It aims to
encourage research on verbal and non verbal languages, different forms of
thought, media and participatory communication processes. Moreover, it focuses
on the communicative individuals and processes as well as their relationship
with the territorial development and people’s quality of life.
- Communication and Culture
It
addresses socio-cultural and political transformation dynamics. It analyses the
role of media and ICT in such dynamics.
- Communication and Image
It examines
the role of audiovisual content in society, it being understood as a tool for constructing
and interpreting cultural reality. Furthermore, it approaches the audiovisual
discourse from a communicative perspective, which takes into account the
socio-cultural and political transformation dynamics.
Contributions
might be submitted in English, Spanish or Portuguese up to June 30th 2018. The
papers must contain the following parts: abstract, research problem,
theoretical framework, methods, main findings and references. This book will
have an ISBN number assigned.
Please use
the Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition.
This includes citation, reference list and format.
DEADLINES
Juny 30th: full publication submition (12 to 15 pages maximum) + abstract (no more than
500 words) + summary + minibiography
July -
November: revision and edition of chapters
December:
Final publication of the book
