"Dissent and communication: voices and discourses in the era of alternative facts"

In order to present a paper at the Mediaflows Conference 2021 ‘Dissent and communication: voices and discourses in the era of alternative facts’, a 250-word proposal should be sent through the specific form available at this link until 15 July 2021. The conference accepts papers in Spanish and English.
The conference accepts papers in face-to-face mode (health circumstances permitting) or virtual mode (by sending a video or participating online).
The conference includes six sections. The description of every section can be consulted on the website.
The proposal must be addressed to one of them:
- New actors in political communication: parties and institutions between science and influencers
- Conspiracy and crisis: the questioning of official discourses
- Non-mainstream journalism, changes in the media structure and the fracturing of official agendas
- Political alternatives to traditional politics: scope, limits and impact
- Movements and counter-movements: the framing of social activism and its reactions
- New methodologies in communication research: mixed methods and techniques for the digital environment
Publication
A selection of the accepted proposals may form part (blind peer review) of the special issue that the Catalan Journal of Communication & Cultural Studies, published by Intellect Ltd. and indexed in Scopus (Q2), will devote to the conference in October-November 2022, as well as issue 8 of the journal Dígitos, edited by the Department of Language Theory and Communication Sciences of the Universitat de València, which will be published in 2022.
