HyperCultura was founded in 2012 by the Department of Letters and Foreign Languages,
Hyperion University, Bucharest. It is a biannual publication, with two issues
each year, which has turned from a print and electronic version into an online
journal.
It
encourages interdisciplinarity, with articles ranging from Cultural and Literary
Studies to Language and Teaching. So far, all its volumes have been thematic,
each theme being alloted two issues. Topics of interest today –
Multiculturalism and/or Transculturalism, Indentity and Conflict in Cultural
and Geopolitical Contexts, Cultural and Institutional Memory as a Means of
Progress, Community and Communication from a Diachronic and Synchronic
Perspective have been approached from a variety of angles. Nationhood, race,
feminism, globalization, education, philosophy, the digital world,
Romanianness, Irishness, Britishness, Americanness, rhetoric, medievalism,
consumerism, history, narratology, bureaucracy, communication and art is just a
summary of all the subjects included here.
HyperCultura is grateful to have received articles from close and very distant countries,
sparking the interest of both Romania and Europe, Europe and America, and
across the globe, reaching so far as India, and to have enjoyed the
contributions of both young and old, junior and the most experienced scholars
in the respective area of research. Throughout our forthcoming issues, we hope
to encourage the debates even more.
HyperCultura (E-ISSN 2559-2025; indexed CEEOL)
(double-blind peer-reviewed), an attempt at "a dialogue across and among
cultures", invites articles for its next issue, No 7/2018 (issue 6, No 2,
2017 is still under production). We are welcoming, although not imposing, a
comparative perspective on the following areas: literature (print and
hypertext), cultural history/anthropology, media studies, film studies, visual
and performative arts, popular culture, foreign languages teaching. Articles
should be in English (USA), between 3000-7500 words, MLA Style. For more
information please
see Submission Guidelines.
